Alexey Kozlov (intelligence officer)
Alexey Kozlov (October 10, 1935 – November 2, 2015) was a Soviet intelligence officer, who is recognized as a Hero of the Russian Federation.
==Biography==
Born in Moscow in 1935, Kozlov was captured by the Germans, but even after two years of detention, he did not reveal any secrets. He lost during this period. In 1982, the German intelligence services traded him in a famous spy swaps exchange. Kozlov was traded for 10 German spies and a general of the South African army.〔(Spy trade: Russian agents in Germany may be up for exchange )〕
In 2000, he was declared a Hero of the Russian Federation, for his "... courage and heroism displayed during the performance of special operations...".
He died on 2 November 2015.〔(Alexey Kozlov, Soviet intelligence officer )〕
